GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)

Course Description

This standard describes the requirements for advanced rescue training courses that are recommended by the members of GWO by completing the following elements:

• Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR)
• Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR)
• Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (SR:HSIBR)
• Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (SR:NTBR)

The aim of this module is to enable participants, to perform rescue operations in a WTG hub, spinner and inside the blade by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO Working at Height.

This standard has been developed in response to the demand for recognisable advanced rescue training in the industry and has been prepared in co-operation between the members of GWO based on risk assessments and factual incident and accident statistics from G+ and the wind industry.
